The ugly side of Northern Ireland reared its head again this weekend in a callous and cowardly attack on a young new recruit of the PSNI. The story made news headlines across the world and brought a week of numerous security alerts across the province to a sickening end.
It seems that the dark days of Northern Ireland’s past are not yet behind us and until these groups of dissidents are brought to justice and held responsible for their heartless atrocities, there is only hope of a brighter future. I was listening to the latest album from Seventh Day Slumber in the car today and the words to this song stuck in my head …
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades,
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame,
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise,
From the inside out, O my soul cries out.
Seventh Day Slumber – “From The Inside Out”
We may be heading back towards dark days but there is an everlasting light that will never fade into the darkness … Do you know Him yet?
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John Ch. 8 v12
